Raymore United is excited to welcome Steven Waltner to the club’s coaching staff. With more than a decade of coaching experience across both recreational and competitive levels, Coach Waltner brings a deep passion for player development and a commitment to building strong team cultures.

Steven has coached extensively throughout the Kansas City area, including multiple years with NCF, Raymore Parks & Recreation and other competitive clubs. His experience spans a wide range of age groups from early development (6U) through high school-aged players (15U), competing in leagues such as the Heartland Soccer Association and KC Metro League. His background includes both head and assistant coaching roles, giving him a well-rounded perspective on player growth and team success.

He holds a U.S. Soccer National D License along with multiple age-group certifications (4v4, 9v9, 11v11) and advanced training through United Soccer Coaches, including diplomas in technical training, defending principles, and futsal. Steven also served as Raymore’s “Futsal Czar” from 2023–2025, where he led and expanded the city’s winter futsal programming.

Off the field, Steven is a longtime member of the community. He has served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve since 1998 and currently works full-time as a Department of War civilian employee. He is also a substitute teacher in the Raymore-Peculiar School District, is a member of Rock Brook Church and has been actively involved in youth development through Cub Scouts, leading multiple dens from start to finish.

A dedicated family man, Steven has been married for 21 years and is the father of three sons who all play soccer. He remains active in the game himself, competing in recreational leagues, and enjoys spending time outdoors—especially in the mountains. He and his family also stay busy with their goldendoodle, Bella. Coach Waltner’s passion for soccer, leadership experience, and strong community ties make him a valuable addition to Raymore United. Welcome Coach Waltner!
